YumeNikki -Dream Diary- available now

February 25, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Active Gaming Media and Kikyama have announced the release of YumeNikki -Dream Diary-, the re-imagining of 2004’s hugely popular (and hugely controversial) YumeNikki.  To celebrate the game’s release Kikyama have released a launch trailer that provides a glimpse of the main character, Madotsuki, wandering around the dream that the game is set in.  Watch this below…

In YumeNikki -Dream Diary- players will journey to a variety of dream worlds thanks to Madotsuki’s wonderful ability to fall asleep and open special doors into her dreams.  Capturing the same atmosphere of the original, this modern indie title combines influences from the original game and ideas and features from recent indie offerings to create something unique.

YumeNikki -Dream Diary- features:

  • A collaboration with Ao Oni that sees its terrifying world become one that can be visited.
  • Super Nasu – Players will get to experience the recreated  game-in-game NASU from the original Yume Nikki.
  • Brand new creatures and worlds straight from Kikyama’s imagination and design documents.

Yume Nikki has been hailed as one of the greatest (and most controversial) games ever created with RPG Maker. The new YUMENIKKI -DREAM DIARY- is not a remake, but a full reimagining of the original―reconstructed and enhanced using elements and styles of modern indie games.

YumeNikki -Dream Diary- is available now and those purchasing the game before the 31st March will receive three special wallpapers for PC for free.
