During CinemaCon, Sony releasing the logo for Zombieland 2, finally confirming that the long-rumoured sequel to the 2009 hit comedy is moving ahead. And now, it seems it may be closer than we think…
According to Bloody Disgusting, several casting agencies are reporting that filming is slated to get underway in Atlanta this August. However, at this point there’s been no confirmation as to whether director Ruben Fleischer or stars Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin will return – although back in February Eisenberg said that the sequel “would be wonderful to do”.
Zombieland was a surprise hit upon its release, grossing over $100 million around the world. Talk of a sequel emerged almost immediately, while Amazon Studios also ordered a pilot for a TV spinoff, although it failed to get a series pickup.
