Sylvester Stallone gives some updates on Expendables 3

March 13, 2013 by admin

They may not be hits with critics but action fans have responded in their droves for The Expendables movies. The first film brought in an impressive $274.5 million and last year’s sequel improved on that with $300 million. So it came as no surprise that creator Sylvester Stallone was planning a third one.

Rumours have been circulating since the release of The Expendables 2 on who would be featuring in the next film with names batted around like Wesley Snipes (Blade), Liam Neeson (Taken), Harrison Ford (Star Wars) and even Clint Eastwood (Gran Torino).

Stallone took to Twitter recently to give us some updates on what we can expect with the third instalment, “EX3 needs NEW blood and more humor…. The films were always meant to be more on the humorous side with moments of drama”. He also added that we can expect “mountains of surprises”.

But the question that has been on the lips of literally tens of people has been: will Steven Seagal be in the movie? Well for those who were hoping for the appearance of Seagal may be sad to hear that he won’t be in Expendables 3 according to Stallone: “No S. Seagal, sorry, but maybe we get lucky with J. Chan!”

Jackie Chan had already been confirmed back in December, saying that he’s “agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes.”

The real selling point of The Expendables series was bringing together the action heroes of the 80s and 90s, but Stallone wants to bring in some new talent. He tweeted that he wants, “some young bloods!!! By young I mean 22 to 27. Not big bruisers but tech wizards, super brains and a young woman who is not a sex symbol but funny, tough, REAL.”

Who do you think the “young bloods” will be in The Expendables 3?
