Marcus Luttrell addresses Mark Wahlberg’s rant on SEAL training

November 17, 2013 by admin

In case you missed it, Lone Survivor star Mark Wahlberg has had some strong words to say about actors who talked about military training for a role, and now Marcus Luttrell, the former Navy SEAL who Lone Survivor is based on and who Wahlberg plays in the film, has addressed Mark’s rant…

“Something else had happened before we got up on stage,” explains Luttrell, though he didn’t specify what that was. “That’s what he was pissed about or whatever.”

Luttrell says he tried to step in, “I leaned forward and I was like, ‘It’s cool, dude. We got this, man.” He then went on to talk about how fast news travels on the internet: “We woke up the next morning and it was huge. That’s the funny thing about the internet. The internet is a living organism now. You couldn’t kill it if you tried, I don’t think.”

Seems like Luttrell is trying to cover for Mark Wahlberg, although I don’t see why. I can’t imagine somebody faulting Wahlberg for his passion when discussing something he feels so passionate about.

Lone Survivor opens on January 10th 2014 with a cast that includes Ben Foster (Ain’t Them Bodies Saints), Emile Hirsch (Savages) and Taylor Kitsch (John Carter) and Eric Bana (Closed Circuit).
