Is Jeffrey Dean Morgan playing Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?

August 7, 2014 by James Garcia

A new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice casting rumor has hit the web, and I’ve got to say it would be pretty great if it were true. New set photos have been leaking for the film left and right, and an eagle-eyed fan noticed something particularly interesting on Wednesday. Check out the image below…

Is that… Jeffrey Dean Morgan? You know, the guy who played The Comedian in Watchmen?

It sure does look like Morgan, and if it is him, it looks like he’s playing the late Thomas Wayne. It’ll likely be more of a cameo than anything, and may not go beyond that portrait. But it would be a great nod to Zack Snyder’s Watchmen adaptation, and a fun Easter egg for fans. Also, Morgan was one of the names tossed about when casting for Batman was underway. He may not have landed the role, but the former Comedian could in fact be Batman’s dad!

What do you think? Is that Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne, or are my eyes decieving me? Sound off in the comments below.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice now hits theaters on March 25th, 2016. The film stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Ray Fisher, Laurence Fishburne, Callan Mulvey, Jason Momoa, Holly Hunter, Diane Lane, and Jeremy Irons.
