Aquaman movie rumours surface again

November 28, 2013 by admin

The much ridiculed Aquaman is rumoured to have a film in development, sparked by the latest comments from DC Entertainment’s chief creative officer and comic book writer Geoff Johns, who called the Atlantean “a priority character for the company… He became a little bit of a joke… Suddenly, he was nobody’s favorite super hero… He’s a character that we talk quite a bit about… There is no doubt in my mind that this is one of the most well-known characters among super-heroes, and in popular culture.”

Warner Bros. and DC is currently prepping the Man of Steel sequel Batman vs. Superman for release in July 2015 with director Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill (Clark Kent / Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) confirmed to return and Ben Affleck (The Town, Argo) playing The Dark Knight. Aquaman would certainly be a shift away from the “safe” properties from Warner Bros. and DC and would be an interesting choice if they choose to release it before the much mooted Justice League.

Do you think Aquaman would make a worthy DC film? Let us know in the comments below….
