Metallo rumoured as the villain for Batman vs. Superman

December 5, 2013 by admin

Yesterday it was confirmed that Wonder Woman is set to appear alongside the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight in 2015’s eagerly-anticipated DC team-up Batman vs. Superman, with Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6) securing the role of the Amazon Princess, while Variety also revealed that Callan Mulvey (Zero Dark Thirty, 300: Rise of an Empire) is being considered for the role of the villain.

Now, while most people expect to see Superman’s arch-nemesis Lex Luthor as the main antagonist in Batman vs. Superman, Think McFly Think is reporting that the main bad guy will be none other than Metallo, the cyborg supervillain powered by Kryptonite. It should be noted that Think McFly Think hasn’t proven to be the most reliable of sources in the past,  however in the site’s defense they were the first to break the news about the planned Gotham TV series so there is a chance there could be some truth in this. Still, I’d put a lot more stock in this report had they dropped it prior to Variety identifying Mulvey as a contender for the villain…

Batman vs. Superman is set for release on July 17th, 2015 with Gal Gadot joined in the cast by Henry Cavill (Clark Kent / Superman), Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne / Batman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White).
