Colin Trevorrow talks about the CGI in Jurassic World

November 27, 2014 by admin

The first trailer for Jurassic World landed on Tuesday and, if you go by our Flickering Myth Reaction, it’s been mostly well received. But one of the sticking points from some has been the amount of CGI used in the movie – particularly the opening gates that welcome you into the park.

It seems as though it wasn’t just our writing staff that saw issues with it either as director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) has taken to Twitter to answer questions from fans about those gates. “The gate will be practical,” he tweeted. “Real wood, concrete and steel.”

“The gate is practical, the environment isn’t,” he adds. “That shot was made specifically for the trailer. The film will be different.”

Check out the tweets below:

Jurassic World is set for release on June 12th 2015, with Colin Trevorrow directing a cast that also includes Jake Johnson (New Girl), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past), BD Wong (Jurassic Park), Irrfan Khan (The Amazing Spider-Man), Judy Greer (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer), and Lauren Lapkus (Orange is the New Black).
