As well as revealing plenty of details about the plans for the Spider-Man franchise [read about those here, here and here], the big Sony hack has also given us some insight into other studios’ superhero projects.

Following on from the news that Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo will helm the two-part Avengers: Infinity War, the latest details to emerge concern Warner Bros.’ 2018 Aquaman movie.

According to emails from Columbia’s Michael De Luca seen by The Daily Beast, Jeff Nichols is set to direct the Aquaman solo movie, which will see Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) taking on the role of the King of Atlantis following his debut appearance in next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Nichols’ prvious credits include Shotgun Stories, Take Shelter and Mud.

So far, aside from Zack Snyder, the only others director a so far attached to Warner Bros.’ DC slate are David Ayer (Fury), who is set to direct 2016’s Suicide Squad, and Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad), who will helm the 2017 Wonder Woman movie.
