If rumours are to be believed, Gareth Edwards’ upcoming Star Wars anthology film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has enlisted some Oscar-winning talent to polish its script.
According to Latino-Review, Lucasfilm has brought in Christopher McQuarrie, screenwriter of The Usual Suspects and director of this year’s box office hit Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, for a two-week polish on the screenplay for Rogue One, which has been written by Gary Whitta (After Earth) and Chris Weitz (Cinderella).
Rogue One will take place prior to A New Hope and tell the story of a band of Rebels tasked with stealing the plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the Death Star.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set for release on December 16th 2016, with a cast that includes Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Diego Luna (Milk), Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises), Donnie Yen (Ip Man), Jiang Wen (Let the Bullets Fly), Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland), Alan Tudyk (Con Man) and Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler).
