Ron Perlman says Hellboy 3 will “probably never happen”

March 7, 2016 by admin

It’s been quite the roller coaster ride for Hellboy 3. It’s been eight years since Hellboy 2: The Golden Army and since then, Ron Perlman has said that he wants to do a third movie, before changing his mind. The series director Guillermo del Toro has been busy trying to get Pacific Rim 2 off the ground (which seems to be successful), but has shown some glimmers of hope for Hellboy fans about finishing the trilogy over the years.

Well, Perlman has said that it’s not looking good when promoting the second season of Hand of God for Amazon Prime.

“[Hellboy III] probably will never happen, though you never say never never.”

The first Hellboy movie was released in 2004 and earned $99 million worldwide, while its 2008 sequel earned $160 million. However both films underperformed in domesticly which has halted all chances of a third film getting greenlit. When he was asked about the movie, del Toro noted that it could cost anywhere up to $100 million to make a third film, which probably isn’t helping matters.
