Fox reportedly planning Fantastic Four vs. X-Men movie

December 29, 2013 by admin

Mark this one firmly as a rumour for now, but if The Motley Fool is to be believed, 20th Century Fox is planning to bring together its two Marvel properties for an Avengers-style superhero ensemble featuring the X-Men and The Fantastic Four. According to the site, “the movie will see the characters against each other because of secrets regarding the Fantastic Four’s origin” and will be based upon the 1987 limited series Fantastic Four vs. X-Men.

Considering Fox has made no secret of its desire to develop a cohesive Marvel universe, it wouldn’t be a shock to see the two respective franchises did come together at some point. However, with The Fantastic Four yet to even be rebooted (it’s coming in 2015 courtesy of Chronicle director Josh Trank) and Fox having X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Force and a sequel to The Wolverine all in various stages of development, it would be a surprise if this happened any time soon.

Would you like to see The Fantastic Four taking on the X-Men? Let us know in the comments below….
