Deadline has revealed that Tom Hanks is to reprise the role of Robert Langdon for an adaptation of Dan Brown’s bestseller Inferno, with Ron Howard returning to direct. The duo previously collaborated on The Da Vinci Code, along with the 2009 follow-up Angels & Demons.
Inferno sees Langdon suffering from amnesia, and teaming up with Dr. Sienna Brooks to help him recover, whilst trying to prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante’s Inferno. Sony and Imagine Entertainment are looking to kick-off production in Italy in April.
