Bebop and Rocksteady confirmed for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2; Casey Jones could feature

December 8, 2014 by admin

We reported last week that David Green (Earth to Echo) would be replacing Jonathan Liebsman as director for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, and we can now confirm some of the previous rumours surrounding new character additions.

According to Omelete (via Collider), long-time adversaries Bebop and Rocksteady will appear in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, possibly alongside Casey Jones. A few months back we posted some concept artwork for Bebop and Rocksteady and were asked to remove them, prompting speculation that they would feature in the sequel.

“We can say that Bebop and Rocksteady are in the film, and Casey Jones is a character that we love and we’re trying to fit him in as well,” said producer Andrew Form at CCXP.

Co-producer Brad Fuller also confirmed the return of April O’Neil, Vernon Fenwick and Shredder. No word yet on Krang.

This will be Bebop and Rocksteady’s first big-screen appearance. They were supposed to be in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze, but this was shot down by creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, and so they were replaced with Tokka and Rahzar.

Directed by Jonathan Leibesman (Wrath of the Titans) and produced by Michael Bay (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles starred Megan Fox (Transformers) as April O’Neil, Pete Ploszek (Parks and Recreation) and Johnny Knoxville (Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa) as Leonardo, Alan Ritchson (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) as Raphael, Jeremy Howard (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) as Donatello, Noel Fisher (Battle Los Angeles) as Michaelangelo, Danny Woodburn (Seinfeld) and Tony Shalhoub (Monk) as Splinter, William Fichtner (The Dark Knight) as Eric Sachs, Will Arnett (The LEGO Movie) as Vernon Fenwick, Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost) as Bernadette Thompson, and K. Todd Freeman (The Dark Knight) as Baxter Stockman. You can listen to the Flickering Myth Podcast interview with William Fichtner using the player below:
