SPOILER: Major character confirmed for Star Wars: Episode VIII

November 24, 2015 by Luke Owen

WARNING: THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS NEWS STORY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Still with us? Good.

There has been some debate as to where Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker has been in the promotional material for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but after some folk spotted him on set for Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII, everyone assumed the actor would be back for another run as the Jedi Master. Well, now the actor has confirmed it himself.

Check out the tweet below:

Last shaved on 10/22 after final day of my 2nd #TheFlash (which airs 12/8 #XmasTrix), just in time for Ep VIII-whew! https://t.co/UNsPDaqFT2

— Mark Hamill (@HamillHimself) November 23, 2015

Hamill confirms that he will be back for Star Wars: Episode VIII after someone asked him about his contractually obligated beard growth. The actor later apologised for “spoiling” his return, but thought it was okay following the aforementioned set photos of his time on the Episode VIII set in Ireland.
