Turns out that rumoured cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is true after all

December 18, 2015 by admin

Warning: spoilers below…

Earlier in the year, a rumour started that Daniel Craig was filming a secret role for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was then confirmed by Simon Pegg who said he was playing a Stormtrooper. The actor was then asked if it was true, which he firmly shot down.

Well, turns out he is the movie.

According to multiple sources for Entertainment Weekly, Craig filmed the scene for “shits and grins”, and they were all sworn to secrecy about it. The scene in question is where Daisy Ridley is being held captive on the Starkiller Base, and uses the Jedi Mind Trick on a hapless Stormtrooper to set her free. That Stormtrooper is, apparently, Daniel Craig.

Other rumours suggest that Benedict Cumberbatch also plays a Stormtrooper during the opening scene, but we’ll see about that one.
