Blake Lively to star in The Husband’s Secret from Big Little Lies author

May 29, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Following the success of Big Little Lies, CBS FIlms has snapped up the rights to author Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel The Husband’s Secret, setting Blake Lively to star and executive produce a feature film adaptation. Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz, and Andrew Miano will produce the film through their Depth of Field banner.

Published in 2013, The Husband’s Secret will see Lively as Cecilia Fitzpatrick, a wife, mother, and chronic perfectionist who inadvertently discovers that her husband has been keeping a secret from her for years … a secret that leads her to realize that her life is built on a foundation of lies and murder.

“Liane Moriarty has established herself as one of the defining voices of the modern woman and Blake Lively’s unique combination of vulnerability, strength and extraordinary talent makes her the perfect actress to realize Moriarty’s creation,” said Terry Press, President of CBS Films.

Blake Lively has recently signed on to play the lead in the MMA drama Bruised, while Liane Moriarty has revealed that she is currently working on ideas for a second season of the acclaimed HBO drama Big Little Lies.
