The Rotten Tomatoes score for Justice League has at last been released, giving the comic book team-up flick a less than desirable 40%.
Many eyebrows were raised at the news of Rotten Tomatoes delaying their score for the much anticipated DC superhero movie Justice League. Normally the scores are released well in advance (as soon as the review embargo is lifted) but on this occasion RT delayed the release until the day before the film arrives in cinemas.
What made matters more curious still was the fact that Warner Bros. – the studio behind Justice League – owns a stake in Fandango (Rotten Tomatoes’ parent company). This indicating to some that WB didn’t want the score getting out there and influencing audience’s not to see the movie.
All of this is in the past, however, as we now know that Justice League has a 40% score. This comprises of 136 reviews at this present stage and an average score of 5.2/10. Overall, RT counts 55 ‘fresh’ reviews for Justice League and 81 ‘rotten’.
For context, Batman v Superman scored a dismal 28% upon its release, so Justice League can take some comfort there. You can read our reviews of Justice League here and here.
