Exclusive Interview – Director Rupert Jones on Kaleidoscope

November 9, 2017 by Freda Cooper

Arriving in UK cinemas this week is psychological thriller Kaleidoscope, the first feature from British director Rupert Jones.

Set on in a small flat on a London housing estate, it digs into the distance between ex-offender Carl and his mother, its effect on his relationships with other women and what may – or may not – have happened within the confines of those four walls.

Rupert Jones talked to Flickering Myth’s Freda Cooper about how he decided to cast older brother Toby in the lead and Anne Reid in the pivotal role of the mother. As well as taking up the director’s chair for the movie, he also wrote the screenplay – something he admits he finds difficult.

Kaleidoscope is released in UK cinemas on Friday, 10 November.  Read our review here.
