Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo reuniting for family comedy series

January 10, 2014 by admin

It’s not quite a reunion for Clark and Ellen Griswold, but Vacation stars Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo are teaming up once again for a new single camera family comedy from Aaron Kaplan (Chasing Life), which has received a production commitment from ABC.

According to Deadline, the as-yet-untitled series will see Chase and D’Angelo playing “a married couple in their 60s who are finally enjoying their golden years.  They have raised their daughter who is a grown woman and now lives on the other side of the country with her two kids and that’s the way they like it – these selfish grandparents now only need to see their grandchildren a couple of times a year. But, due to circumstances beyond their control, they are now forced to raise their grandchildren.”

Chase and D’Angelo have of course appeared together in four Vacation movies (as well as the Homeaway Super Bowl promo Hotel Hell Vacation), while there have been plenty of rumours about a possible return for New Line’s now-delayed reboot of the series, which is set to star Ed Helms as a now-adult Rusty Griswold.

Are you excited about seeing Chase and D’Angelo reuniting on screen? Let us know in the comments below…
