Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki to lead Walker, Texas Ranger reboot for The CW

October 12, 2019 by Gary Collinson

UPDATE: It has now been announced that The CW has snapped up the Walker, Texas Ranger reboot, with the network set to reunite with Jared Padalecki following the end of Supernatural after its fifteen season run. Original story follows…

Deadline is reporting that Supernatural star Jared Padalecki has signed on to lead the cast of Walker, a reboot of the Chuck Norris-headlined action adventure series Walker, Texas Ranger.

Walker will see Padalecki taking on the role of Cordell Walker, “a man finding his way back to his family while investigating crime in the state’s most elite unit. Our broken widower and father of two returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years for a high profile case – only to discover that there’s even more work to be done at home.”

The reimagining will see Padalecki’s Walker joined by a female partner, one of the only women in Texas Rangers’ history.

Anna Fricke (Valor) is serving as writer on Walker, as well as executive producing with Padalecki, Dan Lin (Lethal Weapon) and Dan Spilo (Sunnyside).
