John Boyega has confessed that he was the culprit who left the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker script under his bed

November 28, 2019 by Liam Waddington

Recently, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams revealed that the script for Episode IX had almost leaked online after one of the stars of the film left their script under their bed and it ended up on eBay. However, the mystery has now been solved regarding who the culprit was as John Boyega confessed to the incident.

“Alright guys, it was me,” Boyega admitted during an interview with Good Morning America. “Let me tell you how all this went down. It was actually from my apartment. I was moving apartments and I left my script under my bed. I was just like, ‘You know what? I’m gonna leave it under my bed when I wake up in the morning, I’ll take it and then move.’ But then my boys came over and we started partying a little bit, and the script, it just stayed there. And then, a few weeks after, this cleaner comes in, finds this script, and then puts it on eBay for like, £65. The person didn’t know the true value.”

Fortunately, Disney handled the entire situation before the entire world read the script and plot for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker while the film was still in production.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set for release on December 19th 2019 in the UK and December 20th 2019 in North America. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker sees J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) directing a cast that includes Star Wars veterans Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix), Greg Grunberg (Snap Wexley), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa) as well as new additions Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lost), and Keri Russell (The Americans).
