The Mandalorian’s Katee Sackhoff says Bo-Katan has changed since we last saw her in Rebels

November 19, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian, says the character has changed since we last saw her in Star Wars Rebels.

It had been quite some time since we had seen Bo-Katan before she made her live-action debut on last week’s The Mandalorian episode. Last time we saw her was in Star Wars Rebels, years before when she received the Darksaber and began to lead her people.

A lot has changed since then in the Star Wars universe and for Bo-Katan too. According to Kateee Sackhoff (via ET), who has reprised the role she voiced during Rebels and Star Wars: Clone Wars, the character isn’t quite the same person you remember:

“I think that there is a little piece of Bo-Katan that I don’t think you see coming. She’s got something else going on in her mind and everything she does is purposeful. And I think that is new for her. She’s grown into the role of a leader, and she finally believes she is a leader. And there is an ego that comes with being a leader that may or may not work against her.”

It’s going to be fascinating to see how her story plays out and how it intertwines with Din Djarin’s. Will she be a friend or foe? And will she get the Darksaber back from Moff Gideon?

The Mandalorian season two sees Pedro Pascal (Din Djarin), Gina Carano (Cara Dune), Carl Weathers (Greef Karga), Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) and Bill Burr (Mayfield) joined by new cast additions Temuera Morrison (Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones), Katee Sackhoff (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Timothy Olyphant (Justified), Michael Biehn (The Terminator) and WWE Superstar Sasha Banks.

The Mandalorian season two airs on Fridays on Disney+.
