Ziggurat to reboot Prison Tycoon franchise on PC and console

January 28, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Ziggurat Publishing has teamed up with Abylight Studios (developers of Hyper Light Drifter, Tiny Thief and Super Hydorah) and announced they will be bringing Prison Tycoon: Under New Management to PC and consoles later this year.  This latest entry in the Prison Tycoon series will focus on rehabilitating and reintegrating inmates so they become honest and hardworking members of society.

Prison Tycoon: Under New Management once again puts players in control of a prison, tasking them with ensuring it is successfully run and maintained.  To guarantee security, prison governors need to ensure there are sufficient security checkpoints, guard towers, prison cells and inmate services and maintain a balance between security and service.

Throughout the game players will need to maintain funding by approaching state agencies, manage the flow of resources and keeping the prison staff happy, all the while keeping inmates on the path to reintegration and providing proper care.

“We are thrilled to be working with Abylight Studios on a transcendent reimagining of the Prison Tycoon franchise,” said Wade Rosen, President of Ziggurat Interactive. “Under New Management is our opportunity to reboot the franchise with a modern mindset and positive outlook.”

Look out for more news coming soon for Prison Tycoon: Under New Management.
