Russell Crowe reveals who he’s playing in Thor: Love and Thunder

April 22, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

It goes without saying that this story contains a huge spoiler for Thor: Love and Thunder. You’ve had fair warning with the headline, but read no further should you wish to remain in the dark about who Russell Crowe will be playing in Taika Waititi’s second Asgardian adventure.

With filming currently ongoing in Australia, it appears that Crowe’s time on set is coming to an end, and it was while discussing this on morning radio show Joy Breakfast with The Murphys, that the one-time Maximus revealed that he would be playing Zeus in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Casually speaking about what he was going to do with his day, Crowe said “I’m going to get on my bicycle. I’m going to ride up to Disney Fox Studios and around about 9:15, I shall be Zeus! It’s for Thor. It’s my last day of Zeus-ing about, and I’m going to enjoy it.”

“By the beard of Zeus!” That’s quite a throwaway announcement from a man who has played Jor-El, Maximus Decimus Meridius, and now the King of the Gods. An impressive CV indeed.
