Green Lantern actor shares behind-the-scenes images from Zack Snyder’s Justice League deleted scene

May 5, 2021 by Amie Cranswick

Last month, Zack Snyder revealed that he originally intended to feature a Green Lantern cameo in The Snyder Cut of Justice League, the director even going so far as to shoot a scene with actor Wayne T. Carr in the role of John Stewart.

Had Warner Bros. not nixed the idea, Green Lantern would have popped up in place of Harry Lennix’s Martian Manhunter during the meeting with Bruce Wayne towards the end of the movie, and now thanks to Carr we have a look at some behind the scenes images of him filming the sequence – on Zack Snyder’s driveway, of all places.

GRATEFUL!

Meanwhile, Carr also opened up to LightCast (via Digital Spy) about his experience on Zack Snyder’s Justice League, stating:

“[Snyder] said, ‘We’re going to shoot it, we’ll see what the studio says’. This is kind of crazy because we shot it in what I’m going to call ‘Driveway Studios’. He called me after he showed it to everyone, I think it was the second time because they had watched it in parts. He was like, ‘They’re not letting me do this thing’.

“When I saw the full vision, I went through the journey like everybody went through the journey. Towards the end I realised, ‘Ugh. I’m not a part of this. Darn’. The thing that kind of just warmed my heart was once all of the concept art and stuff started to drop, it’s been nothing but love from the fans, man. Like, I wasn’t even in the movie, and I’m just getting positive feedback from people and support. It’s super crazy. It’s absolutely crazy, but I love it.”

In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad, and Darkseid, and their dreadful intentions.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and features Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera, Joe Morton as Silas Stone, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, Harry Lennix as Martian Manhunter, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Zheng Kai as Ryan Choi, Peter Guinness as DeSaad, Ray Porter as Darkseid, and Jared Leto as The Joker.
