Samurai Shodown now available on Steam

June 16, 2021 by Andrew Newton

SNK has today announced the release of their weapon-based fighter Samurai Shodown on Steam.  To celebrate this occasion, SNK has started a special Publisher sale, with some of their games getting discounts of up to 80%.  Released alongside the game is the new Season Pass 3 DLC character, Shiro Tokisada Amakusa.  A new trailer below shows this character in action…

Samurai Shodown faithfully reproduces all the game mechanics, atmosphere and exhilarating battles that have made the series so popular.  This latest instalment to the series is set one year before the very first game and features warriors and combatants from numerous backgrounds and all with their own motivations for battle.

The Steam Edition features the base game and the Season Pass 1 DLC set for £34.79, while the Deluxe Pack includes the base game and the Season Passes 1 and 2 at £44.79.  There’s also a Kiwami Pack that includes all 3 Season Passes as well as the base game, priced £54.47.  Order these before 18th June and get an early buyers discount of 20%.

Season Pass 3 is releasing its third character today, Shiro Tokisada Amakusa.  This character first appeared as the final boss in the first game back in 1993 but also in Samurai Shodown III, Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa’s Revenge and Samurai Shodown V Special.  Shiro Tokisada Amakusa joins the already released Cham Cham and Hibiki Takane, with just one more character from Guilty Gear to come.

Samurai Shodown is available on Steam now.
