Doctor Who’s Sophie Aldred returns as Ace for Torchwood: The Red List

August 28, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Big Finish Productions has announced that they will be releasing a brand new Torchwood audio drama this November starring Sophie Aldred reprising her role as Ace, the plucky companion of the Seventh Doctor.  Torchwood: The Red List, Ace joins Torchwood 3’s Mr Colchester for hotel lunches and cryptic crossword puzzles.

Torchwood: The Red List begins with the appearance of lights in the sky but then the country begins to fall apart and that is when Torchwood gets involved.  The mysterious organisation tries to help as does A Charitable Earth but it wouldn’t be a good Torchwood story without a big problem.

Ace, AKA Dorothy McShane, joins Mr Colchester of Torchwood 3 and find themselves trapped in a quarantine hotel in the middle of an alien invasion.  Will they be able to save the world from their rooms?

Writer James Goss said: “Ace meets Torchwood! The grumpy Mr Colchester must work out what to make of Dorothy McShane, and gets her totally wrong.  It’s a conspiracy thriller set in a hotel, and it was an absolute joy to put Sophie Aldred against Paul Clayton. It’s great to see the two of them square up against each other.”

Torchwood: The Red List will release this November from Big Finish Productions and is available to pre-order now as a collector’s edition CD at £10.99 or as digital download for £8.99. Fans of the Torchwood range can pre-order a six-release bundle for £60 on CD or digital download for £50.
