The embers have long since burned out on the Game of Thrones finale discourse, and so HBO have decided it’s time to fan the flames on the world of George R.R. Martin by unveiling the first teaser for their prequel series House of the Dragon, which can you can check out here…

House of the Dragon takes place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and follows the Targaryen family in the prime of their power in Westeros. However, all is not well as a civil war within the Targaryen family is brewing that will reshape the future of the Seven Kingdoms. and the Targaryen dynasty.
House of the Dragon features a cast that includes Paddy Considine (The Outsider), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One), Emma D’Arcy (Truth Seekers), Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man), Steve Toussaint (Small Axe), Sonoya Minuzo (Crazy Rich Asians), Eve Best (Nurse Jackie), and Graham McTavish (Outlander).
House of the Dragon is a 10-episode series co-created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal. Condal penned the script, alongside Sara Lee Hess. He will also serve as co-showrunner alongside Game of Thrones veteran Miguel Sapochnik.
House of the Dragon is set to premiere in 2022.
