Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz expects to return as Domino again for Disney and Marvel

November 7, 2021 by Gary Collinson

While Deadpool 2 planted the seeds for 20th Century Fox’s planned X-Force movie, the studio’s sale to Disney cast uncertainty over Fox’s various X-Men projects as the rights to the characters came under control of Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios.

Almost three years on from the Fox acquisition, much of Marvel’s plans for the X-Men remain up in the air, although we do know that the Deadpool franchise will indeed continue, and that Ryan Reynolds is currently working with Disney and Marvel Studios on a third Deadpool movie. Whether this new film will continue the Fox storyline/original plans remains to be seen, but Reynolds’ Deadpool 2 co-star Zazie Beetz is expecting to make her return as Domino, with the actress telling Comic Book that she will “make it happen”.

“I would love to revisit Domino,” states Beetz. “I would love to do a Deadpool 3, 4, 5, 7, 19. I’ve also wanted to be like, ‘Maybe I could just do my own origin story.’ I feel honored to have been able to depict her on screen and to have played with her, as her. I love her and so I would be more than happy to revisit her on camera. And I think I will. If Disney doesn’t make it happen, I’ll make it happen.”

As yet, we have no idea what Reynolds and Marvel are cooking up for Deadpool 3. The original plan was to follow Deadpool 2 by reuniting Deadpool, Domino and Cable (played of course by Josh Brolin, who has already made a major impact on the MCU as Thanos) for X-Force, and assuming Marvel doesn’t just scoop up Deadpool and drop him directly into the MCU Doc Ock-style, then it would seem a pretty safe bet that the Merc with a Mouth won’t be the only familiar face to return for his next outing.

Are you excited at the prospect of seeing more of Zazie Beetz’s Domino, perhaps even as part of the MCU? Let us know your thoughts on our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
