Video Review – Guillermo del Toro strikes again with twisted Nightmare Alley

January 20, 2022 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno with a video review of Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley…

Constantly firing all cylinders, Guillermo del Toro hits a new level with Nightmare Alley. Gone is the filmmaker’s supernatural tinge, and in its place is something even scarier…the darkness of the human soul. Nightmare Alley is unlike anything from del Toro, and it makes it a must-see outing.

Join critic EJ Moreno for a review on the new twisted dramatic thriller from one of the best directors working today. Watch EJ’s review below, and be sure to follow us on YouTube for more reviews, exclusive interviews, and other video content…

When charismatic but down-on-his-luck Stanton Carlisle (Bradley Cooper) endears himself to clairvoyant Zeena (Toni Collette) and her has-been mentalist husband Pete (David Strathairn) at a traveling carnival, he crafts a golden ticket to success, using this newly acquired knowledge to grift the wealthy elite of 1940s New York society. With the virtuous Molly (Rooney Mara) loyally by his side, Stanton plots to con a dangerous tycoon (Richard Jenkins) with the aid of a mysterious psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) who might be his most formidable opponent yet.
