Comic Book Review – Zombies vs Robots #5

May 21, 2015 by Andrew Newton

Andrew Newton reviews Zombies vs Robots #5…

In “Inherit the Earth,” an attack on the Amazon island expands the war beyond zombies and robots, with two planets at stake! And in “The Orphan,” a new friendship is torn asunder…

Issue 5 of Zombies vs Robots greets us with a full blast of action from the ‘Inherit the Earth’ storyline which finds our astronaut friends at the mercy of the King Neptune.  Last issue Neptune promised the humans would suffer but will he follow through with his promises in this issue?

Chris Ryall and Anthony Diecidue have done a great job with the storyline and art of the Inherit the Earth storyline.  The story itself is nicely written and the different slant on a zombie apocalypse is a very nice touch. Although I never in a million years would have seen Neptune coming.

In the second story of the issue, The Orphan, will the enclosure her robot friend built last issue provide the security she really needs and what other new improvements will the robot make to himself?

This story written by Steve Niles is my favourite storyline in the series, the developing friendship between the girl and her robot is very touching.

If I have one criticism with this issue it’s that I don’t like the cover. The subscription cover is brilliant however and feel this would have been much better as the main cover.
