Arrested Development season 5 arriving in mid-2016

June 3, 2015 by James Garcia

While a fifth outing for the Bluths has been in the cards ever since Arrested Development was revived on Netflix, the only one trumpeting the idea has been executive producer Brian Grazer, who recently promised that the series would be returning for seventeen episodes.

Now, Grazer has reaffirmed that more episodes are on the horizon, and could arrive as early as this time next year. While speaking on Adam Carolla’s podcast, Grazer confirmed that Fox has given season 5 the green light, and said the following:

“Netflix is determined to do more episodes, so we’re going to do more episodes.”

Grazer thinks that production will begin in January 2016, with the aim for the episodes to launch “four months after that.”

Now, whether or not the producers will be able to wrangle the show’s sprawling (and increasingly busy) cast to make that feat happen remains to be seen.
