Deadline is reporting that Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackhoff is heading back to outer space, with the actress signing on for the lead role in Another Life, a new sci-fi series from Halfire Entertainment (Alias Grace) and Netflix.
Created by Aaron Martin (Saving Hope, DeGrassi: The Next Generation), Another Life will see Sackhoff playing Niko Breckinridge, an astronaut searching for evidence of alien intelligence who leads a crew on a mission to explore the genesis of an alien artifact. However, as Niko and her young crew investigate, they face unimaginable danger on what might very well be a one-way mission.
Another Life reunites Sackhoff with Netflix after the streaming service picked up her drama series Longmire following its cancellation at A&E. She also guest stars on The CW’s DC superhero series The Flash as Amunet Black and has the sci-fi feature 2036 Origin Unknown slated for release later this year.
