Rumour: There’s a mole in Star Wars: Episode IX

September 19, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Although its been filming for several weeks now, we’ve heard very little about Disney and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Episode IX when it comes to potential plot details.

However, The Daily Express has shared a rumour from YouTuber Mike Zeroh, which claims that: “Kylo Ren is suspicious of an individual in the First Order handing out information to the Resistance. Part of the Episode IX storyline will have a cat and mouse element to it, similar to Revenge of the Sith where the Jedi were trying to find out who the Sith lord is – which turned out to be Palpatine.”

The report goes on to claim that General Hux will be revealed as the mole, and that he is attempting to bring down the new Supreme Leader as he always believed he should be Snoke’s successor and is looking to take control of the First Order himself.

At this point, it’s worth pointing out that Mike Zeroh’s track record is mixed at best. However, this does tie in with another (equally dubious) Reddit rumour from back in May, so perhaps there’s a little more to this than your usual internet speculation. Then again…
