Aquaman villain Black Manta gets a new collectible statue from Prime 1 Studio

December 11, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Sideshow has unveiled a batch of images showcasing Prime 1 Studio’s 1:3 scale Black Manta statue which is based on the appearance of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s villain in Warner Bros. upcoming DC superhero movie Aquaman. The collectible is limited to 500 pieces and is available to pre-order now, priced at $1,199.00; take a look here…

Black Manta, also known as David Kane does not possess any innate powers. Instead, he uses Atlantean technology supplied by the Ocean Master to provide him with superhuman strength, endurance, durability and a variety of weapons.

The high level of intricate detail featured on this statue makes it look as though Black Manta has just stepped right out of the film. This mercenary comes with a sword in his right hand, LED light-up function on his eyes, a left-hand fist, and an iconic design base.

The Exclusive Version also comes with an attachable left forearm Blade as well as a left open-palm hand.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman”, starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime — one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be … a king.”

Aquaman is directed by James Wan (The Conjuring) and stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero, reprising his role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, along with Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Ludi Lin as Murk, Michael Beach as Jesse Kane, Djimon Hounsou as the Fisherman King, Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin, Otis Dhanji as a young Arthur Curry, Julie Andrews as Karathen and Graham McTavish in an as-yet-unrevealed role.
