Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark gets two more creepy Super Bowl promos

February 4, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

Last night we brought you a first look at Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark with two Super Bowl TV spots, and now another two promos from the Big Game have arrived online for director Andre Ovredal and producer Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming horror featuring ‘Red Spot’ and ‘The Pale Lady’; check them out below, along with a new synopsis for the hotly-anticipated adaptation of Alvin Schwartz’s horror book series…

"What is that red spot on my cheek?" Mother said, "It will go away. Just don't scratch it."

It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying tome.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is set for release on August 9th in the US and features a cast that includes Zoe Margaret Colletti (Wildlife), Michael Garza (Wayward Pines), Austin Zajur (Kidding), Gabriel Rush (Moonrise Kingdom), Natalie Ganzhorn (Wet Bum), Austin Abrams (The Americans), Gil Bellows (Patriot), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), and Javier Botet (It).
