August 8, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Indie developer Supercombo has announced their upcoming deck building roguelike RPG Arcanium.  Inspired by games such as Slay the Spire, Hearthstone and Faster Than Light, this single player deck-builder is set in the lore-rich world of Arzu and features a cast anthropomorphic heroes.

In Arcanium players choose three heroes from a selection of 25 to form their team, these heroes come from a variety of warrior classes including tanks, assassins, mages, marksmen, supports and mercenaries.  Each class will offer players with a variety of play styles and advantages such as area of effect damage, emphasis on minions, and shields.

Players will take their teams through seven procedurally generated provinces each with a different ecosystem ranging from lush forests to vast deserts and will feature a variety of unique enemies, quests and artifacts.  As players progress they will be able to upgrade the power and defense of their party members with artifact and ability cards.

The game features:

  • More than 400 unique cards to collect with varying levels of rarity.
  • Roguelike procedurally generated events and an open-world map exploration.
  • RPG-like character and party inventory system.
  • On the fly deck building.

  • 6 playable classes to choose from when building your party.
  • Fast-paced, Real-time pausable combat that lets the player strategize at any moment.
  • Day/night cycle in each province.
