John Carpenter “wouldn’t count on” Halloween receiving a true ending with Halloween Ends

August 26, 2019 by Liam Waddington

Halloween creator John Carpenter has claimed he doesn’t expect the franchise to come to a true end even after the two upcoming sequels, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends.

“As long as there’s money in this, I wouldn’t count on an ending,” Carpenter stated during an appearance on a panel at the Keystone Comic Con in Philadelphia (via The Wrap).

Carpenter, who produced and composed the score for the 2018 sequel/reboot, will be returning to produce and score the upcoming back-to-back sequels. The greater involvement of Carpenter in the production of the new Halloween films is a positive turn of events as last year’s reboot was the first time the creator has being involved since 1981’s Halloween II.

Carpenter will be joined by returning director David Gordon Green and writer Danny McBride. Blumhouse’s Jason Blum will also be producing both sequels, while Halloween Kills will star the returning Jamie Lee Curtis (Laurie), Judy Greer (Karen, Laurie’s daughter), Andi Matichak (Allyson, Laurie’s granddaughter), and both Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney as The Shape.

Halloween Kills is set for release on October 16th 2020, followed by Halloween Ends on October 15th 2021.
