PlanetSide Arena arrives on Early Access this September

August 30, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Daybreak Games has announced that their massive-scale, match based, sci-fi arena shooter PlanetSide Arena will launch in Early Access on PC on 19th September with the full release coinciding with the Xbox One and PS4 launch next year.  A new cinematic trailer has been released and can be seen below…

This sci-fi arena shooter reintroduces fans to the revolutionary MMOFPS PlanetSide franchise and will see players enjoy exciting class-based sci-fi action, combined arms combat, compelling team tactics and a deep tech tree.  Players will be able to make use of lightning fast jet packs and vehicles and equip weapons with all manner of mods.

When the game releases on Early Access it will feature the new Squads mode (12 soldiers per Squad) and Teams mode (3 soldiers per Team) for some epic scale 300 player matches.

Over the following year there will be a huge amount of content released, including new vehicles, weapons, classes, events, maps and new game modes plus some of the classic favourites that have been reimagined for the huge 300 player battles.

“This is just the beginning,” according to Andy Sites, Executive Producer on PlanetSide franchise. “We have an unrivalled ability to create online games at scale, and PlanetSide Arena will be the next step forward in the genre of arena shooters.”

PlanetSide Arena arrives on Early Access on 19th September.
