Rhein-Ruhr Osten route add-on arrives on Train Sim World

October 10, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Fans of Train Sim World will be pleased to hear that Dovetail Games has released the Rhein-Ruhr Osten route add-on on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.  This brand new route will take players through the beautiful scenery of the North Rhine-Westphalia region in a new engine, the DB BR 422.  A new trailer showcasing the new route can be seen below…

With this latest route add-on Train Sim World welcomes its first split track, the Rhein-Ruhr Osten: Wuppertal – Hagen.  Shortly after leaving Hagen the route diverges with players able to decide whether to take passengers along the riverside S8 S-Bahn or haul freight wagons across the urban Main Line.  The route will then merge near Schwelm to finish the journey in Wuppertal.

Players will be able to enjoy five detailed and engaging scenarios involving emergency diversions and obstructions, and complete 100 jobs including replacing Route Maps, repairing Electrical Cabinets, restocking First Aid Points and setting up No Trespassing signs.

Joining the Train Sim World engine roster is the DB BR 422 EMU railway engine (in DB Traffic Red livery) which provides a brand new experience for players, plus the familiar BR 185.5 gains a new MRCE Dispolok Black livery.  This add-on also includes new Sggmrss Bogie container wagons, Shimmns-TTU 722 and Zacns freight wagons with authentic Hamburg Sud and Hapag-Lloyd branding.

Finally, this latest add-on is cross-compatibility with other German Train Sim World add-ons allowing players the option to swap locomotives on certain services.

The Rhein-Ruhr Osten: Wuppertal – Hagen is available now.
