George Miller says Charlize Theron’s Furiosa won’t star in Mad Max: Fury Road sequels

October 13, 2015 by Gary Collinson

This won’t come as much of a surprise given the franchise’s penchant for shaking up its supporting cast, but Mad Max creator George Miller has revealed that we won’t be seeing much – if any – of Charlize Theron’s Imperator Furiosa in his two planned follow ups to Mad Max: Fury Road.

I’m not sure, is the answer,” Miller tells Digital Spy. “She’s not in the Mad Max [sequel] story, but in one of the stories there’s an interaction between [Max and Furiosa]. I can’t really say more than that because it’s still in progress.”

Miller went on to reveal that the next movie may not use the title Mad Max: The Wasteland, as he’d previously suggested: “That name came out, that was just a working title.”

Are you disappointed that we won’t be seeing more of Furiosa in the Mad Max franchise?
