Domhnall Gleeson, one of the stars of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, says he wanted Hux’s spy plot to play out a little longer.
In the final chapter of the Skywalker saga, it is revealed that Hux is a spy for the Resistance, embedded inside the First Order. Towards the end of the Rise of Skywalker, Hux is outed as a mole and killed off by General Pryde.
Gleeson, however, would have liked Hux to have stuck around a little longer in the Star Wars universe even though he admits J.J. Abrams was right to kill him off how he did. Speaking to IndieWire, he said:
“It would’ve been nice to stick around a little bit longer, for sure. It would’ve been nice to see the spy thing play out a little bit, but J.J. [Abrams] knows what he’s doing, and I heard a kind of gasp in the cinema when it happened, so I guess he was right.”
