Agent Carter’s Enver Gjokaj reprising role for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s final season

April 18, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Some four years after the show’s cancellation, Agent Carter star Enver Gjokaj is set to reprise his role as Strategic Scientific Reserve agent Daniel Sousa for an appearance in the seventh and final season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; here’s a first look photo, courtesy of EW…

“It wasn’t anywhere near my brain,” said Gjokaj when asked by the outlet whether he had any inkling that he’d ever return to the role of Sousa. “I would’ve been thrilled at any moment for it to come back, but I think as an actor you don’t have time. You just have to move on to the next project.”

“One of the things we think is so fun — especially with Coulson, who’s just a fanboy for S.H.I.E.L.D. history — is them just getting to walk right into [that history],” adds co-showrunner Jed Whedon. “With Sousa, we had a good opportunity to hit that note with Agent Coulson.”

As per Marvel.com: ‘Picking up where we left off with Season 6 — and the reveal of a new Phil Coulson Life Model Decoy — Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are thrust backward in time and stranded in 1931 New York City. With the all-new Zephyr set to time-jump at any moment, the team must hurry to find out exactly what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present, and future of the world.’

The final season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. features a cast that includes Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, and Jeff Ward. It premieres on May 27th.
