Video Review – Netflix’s Hollywood

May 1, 2020 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno reviews season one of Ryan Murphy’s Hollywood…

Ryan Murphy is back with a brand-new miniseries for Netflix. Hollywood takes the stories and reality we know of the 1940s and gives us a “What If?” scenario. In this video review, EJ breaks down why this show works so well and why he believes it is Ryan Murphy’s best show in quite some time. From retelling the story of Rock Hudson to crafting a movie that will set the industry on fire, Hollywood is a bold show that tries to show a time in the industry that wasn’t normally too kind.

“HOLLYWOOD follows a group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in post-World War II Hollywood as they try to make it in Tinseltown — no matter the cost. Each character offers a unique glimpse behind the gilded curtain of Hollywood’s Golden Age, spotlighting the unfair systems and biases across race, gender, and sexuality that continue to this day.”

Hollywood features an all-star cast that includes Darren Criss, Samara Weaving, Holland Taylor, Dylan McDermott, Queen Latifah, Jim Parsons, and Patti LuPone. It is set for release on May 1st.
