Netflix wins battle for Gal Gadot spy thriller Heart of Stone

January 20, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

It seems that Gal Gadot is aiming for the title of ‘Stream Queen’, because as well as being at the forefront of Wonder Woman 1984’s WarnerMedia/HBO Max experiment and starring in Netflix event-movie Red Notice alongside Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds, her blockbuster spy-thriller Heart of Stone has also just been bought by the streaming giants.

Pitched as a ‘female-centric franchise with the global scale of films like Mission: Impossible and 007‘, Deadline exclusively reports that Heart of Stone, which will be directed by The Aeronauts and Wild Rose’s Tom Harper, was acquired from Skydance Media during a competitive auction.

Heart of Stone is written by The Old Guard’s Greg Rucka and Hidden Figures’ Oscar-nominated Allison Schroeder, and is the second Skydance property to find a new home this week, with Chris Pratt science-fiction blockbuster The Tomorrow War reportedly on the verge of a $200 million deal with Amazon.
