Steelrising trailer shows the rise of the robots

June 12, 2021 by Andrew Newton

NACON and developer Spiders have released a new trailer for their upcoming action game, Steelrising.  The new trailer (below) reveals a little more detail into the events behind the uprising of these clockwork robots in an alternate Paris in 1789.

In the real world, 1789 France saw the French Revolution kick off, it was a time when the people of France, stormed the Bastille overthrew the monarchy and got rid of all those in what was called the Ancien Régime by chopping their heads off.  However, in Steelrising the revolution has been stopped in its tracks by a powerful army of clockwork automatons.  The then King Louis XVI was a keen proponent of clockmaking and had built an army of robots capable of stopping this revolt.

The King’s clockwork army are powerful and cruel, with no heart and only the orders given, they cut a swathe through Paris massacring men, women and children.  They spare no one.  Amongst all the death and destruction is the clockwork automaton bodyguard of Queen Marie-Antoinette known as Aegis.  Taking control of this outstanding robot, players will need to navigate through a city crawling with mechanical enemies and take part in challenging battles that will test player’s skills.

Look out for more news for Steelrising coming soon.
