Toho celebrates Godzilla Day by announcing that the 30th live-action Godzilla film is coming in 2023

November 3, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Godzilla has hardly been laying dormant over the past few years, what with Adam Wingard’s Western spin on the iconic Kaiju busting blocks in 2021, but we haven’t had a franchise film from the original Toho studio since 2016’s Shin Godzilla…..until now.

Toho Studios, the legendary Japanese film studio, who released Ishirō Honda’s original Godzilla back in 1954, celebrated Godzilla Day by announcing that a 30th film from the studio would be released on November 3, 2023.

Aside from the logo and release date, all we know about Godzilla 2023 is that it will be directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who has Lupin III: The First and The Eternal Zero on his CV.
