David Harbour to suit up as Santa again for Violent Night 2

January 23, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

Violent Night was a real seasonal success story, with David Harbour’s Santa filling his sack to the tune of $75 million at the Christmas box-office, and now it appears that he’s going to don the big red suit again for a sequel.

While speaking with The Wrap, director Tommy Wirkola responded to the question of a sequel by saying “yes, we’re talking about it and we’re just making deals and getting everything in order.”

Suggesting that a Violent Night sequel would explore the world beyond the setting of the first film, Wirkola added “There’s stuff we left on the floor like the North Pole, Mrs. Claus, the elves, but story-wise I think we have a really, really cool idea that expands on the world and scope, but still keeping that tone that we love from the first one.”

Wirkola also confirmed that the follow-up will once again be written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, saying they have “time to really crack the script and figure out the story.”
