Fantastic Four Rumour: Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn eyed for Sue & Johnny Storm

August 4, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Have we met the Storm family for the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. As speculation has swirled on who will play the Fantastic Four patriarch Reed Richards, the rumor mill has now shifted the conversation to Richards’ wife and brother-in-law, the superpowered siblings, Sue and Johnny Storm.

Known as The Invisible Woman and The Human Torch, respectively, it seems like Marvel has circled their choices for Sue and Johnny, and it’s turning out to be two fan-favorite actors. Per The Hot Mic podcast (and co-host Jeff Sneider’s Above The Line site), Vanessa Kirby And Joseph Quinn are in talks to join Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four.

Kirby has often been mentioned as a potential pick for Sue Storm, given her striking blonde look and commanded presence in films like Pieces of a Woman and the Mission: Impossible movies. As for Quinn, his name has popped up recently, mainly after Jack Quaid shut down rumors that he was starring in the film as Johnny Storm. Quinn is best known for his time as Eddie Munson on Stranger Things, the fan-favorite character that won over fans and the internet in 2022.

This casting update is a far cry from the original rumors, which placed Margot Robbie and Paul Mescal in the roles of Sue and Johnny Storm. Those rumors also came with Adam Driver as Reed Richards, but those were shot down not too long ago.

Marvel Studios is still some time from locking this cast down due to ongoing Hollywood strikes, but it seems like we are nearing an announcement any day now. WandaVision’s Matt Shakman will helm this long-awaited Fantastic Four film. Josh Friedman will pen the script, reworking the project initially from Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.

Fantastic Four was set for release on February 14th, 2025, but there’s no word if the Hollywood strikes will impact the release date.
